Mexican Dance Ensemble

History

Mexican Dance Ensemble (MDE) was founded in November 2001. Our organization is a community based company composed of professional and talented dancers and musicians. The city of Chicago has served as the residence of Mexican Dance Ensemble since the company's establishment. We have had many wonderful experiences performing in several important stages throughout USA and abroad including tours in France, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Portugal, Taiwan, the Republic Of China, Greece, and Turkey.

Mission

Our main objective is to serve as a liaison of Mexican Culture and to offer a Mexican performing platform for emerging artists while expanding the importance and values of the arts and the artist community. We strive to preserve Mexican traditions and to enrich it with our particular point of view so that we may spread the essence of this magnificent and varied heritage.

Beginners Schedule

Tuesdays:

7:00pm - 9:00pm

*Beginners session will begin October 1, 2019

Main Company Schedule

Wednesdays:

8:00pm - 10:00pm

Sundays:

10:00am - 1:00pm

Appropriate Apparel

Dancers are expected to wear black sweatpants, T-shirt, and folklorico shoes. Other items to bring include water, skirts(women), rebozo(women), fan(women), and bandanas.
